I created the mixed-media cover artwork for Urban Landscapes, the upcoming album by Ka:Jel — the ambient and lo-fi project of Bottrop-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Mario Meyendriesch. Mario and I go back more than 25 years, having first met through the metal scene in Germany’s Ruhr region, and it has been a pleasure to work with him on this release.

As bassist and producer for BoarPath, and keyboardist and producer for Ka:Jel, Mario brings a rare depth of musical experience to everything he creates. Rather than overexplaining Urban Landscapes in advance, I would rather let the music speak for itself. Its minimalist instrumental compositions create immersive, emotionally resonant soundscapes that feel both subtle and deeply evocative. I was genuinely hooked from the moment Mario shared the tracks with me, and I hope listeners will feel the same.
